Meet Buster...

He was found at his foster mom's work place near a lonely set of train tracks in Rhode Island in November of 2007. His foster mom started feeding him because he didn't look well.  Buster had some urinary tract issues that were attributed to poor nutrition and dehydration.  After a quick vet visit, a quick neutering and some TLC he was given a clean bill of health. His foster mom didn't think he would make a good indoor cat after living outside for so long she had his left ear tipped. (This is used for identification of feral cats to let authorities know that the cat has been fixed and has had a rabies vaccination). Apparently he is perfectly happy being an indoor cat. It is recommended that if you decide to give Buster a forever home that you keep him indoors. Buster loves to be petted and he nudges you with his head when he wants love. He gets along well with female cats, and is pretty easy going.

Meet Tiger...

He currently lives with his foster mom in Rhode Island. He showed up at the feeding station in the winter of 2007. He was outside in one of the shelters for a few days before anyone realized he was coughing and vomiting up his food. He was rushed to the vet who diagnosed him with pneumonia. He was cared for in a basement on a heated cat bed and given meds. Within days he was eating and full of energy. Tiger is a sweet, friendly cat, who loves to be petted. He loves to lie on the couch, near people or on a comfortable lap. He plays well with some of the other cats he has bonded with. PLEASE HELP IN GIVING HIM A FOREVER HOME WHERE HE CAN GET THE LOVE AND ATTENTION HE NEEDS. HE HAS SO MUCH LOVE TO GIVE!

 Meet Red and Fluff...

Red is the orange tabby in the upper right corner. He showed up at the outdoor food station in Rhode Island about a year ago. He had some scratches on his face and his front paws were bloody. His foster mom thought she would have to have a couple nails removed but the vet technician has a soft spot for STRAYS and took good care of him. The surgeon saw that his testicle was up in his belly as he was being neutered and he had to remain under anesthesia longer than usual to fix the problem. This caused the poor little guy's heart to stop.  BUT THANKFULLY HE HAS RECOVERED NICELY. He has bonded with another cat (also pictured here), Fluff. They wrestle and play with each other all the time. Red loves to climbs trees he tends to be cautious of other cats. He is a bit small for his age, which is estimated at a year and a half. Red is waiting for his forever home.

As for Fluff, he was found one evening after a neighbor’s kid came running over saying that there was a kitten in the yard. He was starving and had awful diarrhea and worms. Fluff was so small and so defenseless. It was heartbreaking! But he quickly recovered and was soon pouncing on the other cats in a less than playful manner; he would bite and use his claws. He was so ROUGH. He has mellowed out so much so that it is absolutely amazing. He was quite the "biter" and was not put up for adoption because of this. He's come a long way though and would LOVE to find his forever home.

We used Easy Travel Solution when we transported him to keep him cam. UPDATE on Luis:

He has been taken in by a lovely couple in North Carolina. He has two new siblings, Max and Blitz, two Golden Retrievers. Blitz has become his best friend and apparently Lou has decided that dog toys are just as much fun as cat toys and he steals them out of the toy basket every chance he gets.

A big THANK YOU to the couple who took him in and continue to provide him with all the love and care he so desperately needed.

What a story...from New York City street cat, to an early retirement in a big house in rural North Carolina!!!
